New Board Member: Braxton Street
We are very excited to welcome Braxton Street to the Board of Trash Free Maryland! Braxton is a busy person -- educator, mentor, a Doctorate of Education student at Morgan State, and working for the City of Baltimore school system as a school funding and improvement specialist. Oh, and he is also an inspiring communicator and aspiring politician! He calls Baltimore home and volunteers with numerous other organizations. Braxton is also a singer.
We first met Braxton on Zoom and he explained his interest in Trash Free Maryland: "I live in a nice neighborhood but get up early every weekend to pick up the trash." This is a story we at Trash Free Maryland hear again and again. The reasons for litter are both complex and simple and affect every neighborhood.
Braxton is a cum laude graduate from Morehouse College with a degree in economics and has a Master's in Education from Johns Hopkins University.
Braxton is our first Board member with expertise in the education field. We are enormously fortunate Braxton has chosen us. Education, advocacy and policy are at the core of our work and we know Braxton will add immensely to our efforts.
Welcome Braxton!
