To celebrate Black History Month, the Associated Black Charities is hosting a film screening of “John Lewis: Good Trouble” on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024. You can register here.
As to the film screening Associated Black Charities says “in our mission to dismantle systemic racism, we work together with creatives, historians and subject matter experts in creating and sharing films to help uncover the underpinnings of structural racism, and how the events and policies of the past have helped shape our future. “
"John Lewis: Good Trouble" explores the life of an incredible American. John Lewis did it all — civil rights, gun control, voting rights and health care. His story is a lifetime filled with courage, strategic thinking and activism dedicated to achieving social justice and equality. John Lewis led a life that took him from an Alabama sharecropper farm to Congress.
As we continue to advocate for policies and initiatives to reduce trash pollution in Maryland, we recognize these issues disproportionately affect marginalized populations, we recognize that environmental injustice arises from systemic racism, and we thank those activists present and past who have advocated for social justice and equality for all!
