At our recent South Baltimore Cleanup, we asked volunteers, why are you so passionate about making an impact on litter and trash?
“I see people always just throwing trash out their windows of their car driving down the highway and at stoplights so I just wanted to do my part and clean up some of the trash I see people throwing out their windows.”
“I know when I am driving around and I see a lot of trash along the roads it just really bothers me. I just feel better when areas are being picked up and I have also seen other people, groups of people, picking up trash and volunteering, so I just wanted to make a difference.”
“I grew up in Colorado and our family belonged to a camping club, and every Sunday we were on the camp and you would go out and pick up litter. So for me it is about nature and my roots.”
“There is a lot of litter everywhere and I like not having litter in my neighborhood.”
